Passport Application
Application for Nigerian passports for both first time passport and passport renewals are processed by the Nigerian High Commission in Canberra, Australia. Applications are to be submitted directly through the Nigerian Immigration website.

As of today, August 2025, the online application has not been rolled out for Australia so biometric capturing is still required. For that, the NaijaKiwis coordinates with Canberra for the data capture to be done here in New Zealand. This process is tagged passport exercise and takes place annually. There is no fixed date or time as such, it is advised to follow the NaijaKiwis social media page and mailing list for updates.

You are required by Immigration New Zealand to update your passport details with them once you receive a new passport and transfer your current visas to the new passport. The video below explains that process in details.
